What's On: Firewalk Challenge

DAB are asking people to join the Mayor of Derby City Shaun Marshall in taking part in a life changing challenge to walk over red hot burning coals.  Councillor Marshall said “this is a great challenge and I hope as many people as possible can get involved”.

On Tuesday May 4th at the University of Derby up to fifty courageous volunteers will face their fears and try to achieve the impossible by walking through fire. Participants are asked to try and raise £100 to take part the only firewalking event this year in Derbyshire.

To achieve this magnificent feat the participants will undergo a two hour workshop led by Europe’s most experienced firewalking trainer Cliff Mann. Cliff is a certified member of the Firewalking Institute of Research and Education (F.I.R.E) and is an expert in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis. Cliff will use these skills to train the volunteers the skills and mindsets to walk over 1600 degree Fahrenheit hot coals without injury.

Cliff said “My dream is to unlock people’s potential and show them how to flourish and play to their full potential in the game of life – Fearlessly!”

For an information pack or to register people should contact Robin Toal on 01332 287 027 or robin@dab.org.uk, or visit www.t4c.org.uk/dab to view videos of the last firewalk in Markeaton Park.
