HOSPITAL SUPPORT SERVICES
We give support and information (including advice on benefits and related issues) to people with sight loss and to their carers. We operate in all six hospitals in the county where registration takes place and also provide a similar service at other centres. People can talk about their problems, fears or difficulties, or make specific enquiries. We are then able to provide them with information appropriate to their needs.
Sightline is our 24-hour telephone helpline providing support and information on any aspect of visual impairment as well as advice on legal issues. Through Sightline we also provide telephone befriending on a one-to-one basis, and for small groups we organise teleconferencing.
We have a library of information, and we will always try to find answers to specific questions. In addition, we help visually impaired people access information, from whatever source, in the format they need.
