News: 25 years of Volunteering
As 2009 came to a close the DAB fuddle celebrated the achievements of our wonderful volunteers. Two volunteers in particular stood out as they celebrated a combined twenty five years of dedicated service to the blind and visually impaired across Derbyshire.
Pat Heywood received her fifteen year certificate whilst husband John collected his ten year award. Pat first joined DAB after responding to an advert in the Derby Express for a lifeguard and she has been involved in home befriending, holidays, social clubs and the minibus since.
Pat encouraged John to get involved with the minibus and has made his own mark on our members by driving and running the walking club with Pat for the past eight years. We want to thank them once again for all of their hard work and for setting such a wonderful example.
