News: Befriending news

Here’s a quick update on our Befriending Services Volunteer Meeting, which we held in November. We had a really good turnout despite the wet weather, with 18 of our Home Visiting and Telephone Befriending volunteers attending. We discussed many issues, including training, our new Handbook and how to claim expenses. Elisabeth Woodhatch also gave an update on what’s new at DAB, with Roy Newman giving an introduction to the Home Support Service and some of the latest gadgets available.

I would like say a huge thank you to everyone who supports the Befriending Service and invite all Befriending volunteers to the next meeting on Monday 17 May 2010, at 1-3pm, Liversage Hall, Alice Street, Derby.

If you would like any further information on Befriending, Volunteering or the Home Support Services please contact the Head Office at Derby on: 01332 292262.
