News: Run for DAB in 2010
Whether it is a New Years resolution, January blues, to get fit or try something new, we have the solution to kick start your 2010. Take part in one of three great local events for free by raising just a little sponsorship to support blind and visually impaired people locally in Derbyshire.
Brush off those return to work blues by signing up for the annual Derby 10k along with 3,500 others. If 10k seems a few kilometres too far, team up with your family and friends to take part in the 3km fun run around Pride Park Stadium.
For people really looking to test themselves physically and mentally, there is the aaa-challenge in Darley Abbey in May. The 10km course features a perilous mud bank climb, lung busting military assault course and infamous river crossing, finished off with a final sprint to the finish. If you fancy a challenge, want to push your fitness levels or are merely a glutton for punishment, run the aaa-challenge for DAB.
You can be a part of history by teaming up with DAB and running the worlds first ever Kilomathon right here in Derbyshire. The 26km road race between Nottingham and Derby takes in majestic scenic views of Elvaston Castle and the Derbyshire countryside before finishing inside the home of Derby County, Pride Park. The event is perfect for running off that extra Christmas weight and is a great distance for anyone considering running a full marathon.
Whatever your ambition or fitness level, you can join Team DAB today. Make a difference for yourself and support blind and visually impaired people across the County to be independent.
