CLUBS

As one means of breaking down isolation the Association has helped visually impaired people develop their own independent clubs across the County.

Most of the clubs run socials once a month, often with guest speakers but members may also take part in other activities such as gardening, trips out or go for meals together.

SPORTS AND LEISURE

DAB has very enthusiastic sports and leisure groups, with activities suitable for all ages.

Regular activities include:

Swimming
Pottery
Flat green bowls
Sailing
Walking
Tandem riding

We also have trips out to local places of interest such as museums, stately homes and working farms. Evening entertainment includes the theatre, pantomime and concerts.

Members can take short breaks and holidays as well as days out

We organise a pre-Christmas holiday each year, which is always very well subscribed and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Transport for most outings is provided by DAB's own minibus or through volunteer drivers. We are able to take Guide Dogs and wheelchairs and we do our best to provide sighted guides if required.
