Would you like to support children and young people reach their full potential? We are looking for volunteers to help in all areas of our service. These are:Youth Group Volunteers
Location: Chesterfield (Parish Centre, Stone Gravels)
Times: Weekly, Mondays 6-8pm
Location: Belper (Congregation Church)
Times: Every 2nd Tuesday of the month 6-8pm
Location: Erewash (Ockbrook Parish Hall)
Times: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month 6-8p,
Location: Alvaston (South Gate Youth Centre)
Times: Every 3rd Friday of the month 5.45-7.45pm
Mainstream Volunteers
We are currently looking for someone to help a young person with a visual impairment access Girl Guides.
Location: Ashbourne
Times: Weekly, Mondays 7.45-9.00pm
Out of School/Holiday Activity Volunteers
Would you like to help out on one of our activity sessions? We run a variety of after-school and holiday sessions within a range of locations and times. This would include workshops, creative and sporting activities, as well as day trips.
Helping Hands Volunteers
Our Helping Hands play group is for children up to the age of 5 years, who have a visual impairment. This project offers them a safe environment to learn from play, have fun and provides a place for parents to relax and make friends.
Location: Chesterfield (Birdholme Surestart Children's Centre)
Times: Fortnightly 1.00-2.30pm
Location: Swadlincote (Newhall Adult Day Centre)
Times: Fortnightly 1.00-2.30pm
Visually Impaired Mentoring Volunteers
Are you a visually impaired person who can offer guidance and support to our young people?
Skills you need to have:
Good communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, patience and a real enthusiasm for seeing children and young people achieve their full potential. A car user would be advantageous to the role, although not essential.
