Community Champions Scheme

People who lose all or part of their sight can be left feeling vulnerable, frightened and insecure. It can be difficult to find help and support and even more difficult to find help and support sensitive to your cultural needs.
Our Community Champion scheme provides Black and Ethnic minority communities with a point of contact for advice and information regarding eye problems.
Community Champions;
Provide a voice for their community
Create a relationship with visually impaired people
Help us to find volunteers to support our members with tasks such as translation, reading, walking, shopping, and general socialising.
Help our service managers to understand and meet the specific needs of their community.
As a champion volunteer you will help us to make contact with visually impaired people in your community and help us make our services more accessible to them so that they gain more out of life.
