DAB is a member of the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF), which provides guidance and support to organisations and practitioners involved in mentoring and befriending.

The MBF is committed to promoting voluntary regulation of mentoring and befriending projects through the Approved Provider Standard, the national benchmark for safe and effective practice.

DAB has been recognised as Approved Provider Standard (APS) which certifies:

  • External recognition for safe and effective practice in mentoring and befriending
  • APS is an accepted benchmark by government departments and other funding bodies that will help with your funding applications
  • Increased public confidence in your mentoring or befriending programmes to help promote your programme to potential service users and volunteers
  • Provides a ‘health check’ of your project to ensure that you are operating in a professional way

DAB are members of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB), which champions best practice in fundraising.

Charities displaying the FRSB tick show that they are fundraising according to our Fundraising Promise and the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice.

The Promise commits DAB to treating the public with respect, fairness, honesty and clarity, whilst the Codes lay down best practice standards we follow when fundraising.
